How do I know if I should refinish or replace my hardwood floors?

The best option depends on the condition of the existing flooring. If the hardwood has enough remaining wear layer and the damage is primarily scratches, worn finish, discoloration, or normal wear, refinishing may be an option. If the flooring has significant structural damage, extensive water damage, or cannot be properly refinished, replacement may make more sense. We can evaluate the existing floor and explain your options.

What's the difference between professional floor cleaning and refinishing?

Professional floor cleaning is designed to remove dirt, grime, and buildup from the surface of an existing floor. Refinishing is a more extensive process that involves preparing the existing finish, sanding the wood when appropriate, and applying new stain and/or protective finish. Cleaning does not replace the need for refinishing when the finish itself is worn or damaged.
